What is realism?

The true picture of our lives was shown by Realism. The truth could be bitter too. All the aspects of life were tried to be shown as it is. No mix up, no catch, no fantasy, just the facts and nothing at all. The truth was never explained.
Realism was started in France in 1850s. It was a revolution towards living life with reality. It brought revolution to every field of life say arts, drama, movies etc. Before this revolution dramas were based on fantasy. They were far from reality and created illusion in real life. After the introduction of realism, visual arts as photography, movies started showing the common man in real conditions. Now the art became close to the common man’s heart. They started relating themselves to the art. Now it became easier to convey something to a big crowd. Photographs, paintings, dramas and paintings became the best way to teach moral values to common mass. It started enrooting values in people and media became the best medium for life.
A very important role was played by realism in the field of international relations. According to it anarchy is good for the security of a country as it pays more attention to it. This theory was called defensive realism and it cause greater instability in long run. World war 1st and 2nd were seen as a result of this theory.
Many philosophers gave many theories on realism. One of the theories said that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. Life comes to us as we take it. Some take it lightly, some heavily and some choose the middle path. It differs from person to person.
When we live in fantasy and suddenly we face the reality, it’s hard to bear sometimes. So, it’s better to live in reality.
The world of fantasy gives you ecstasy and joy. It’s not bad to enjoy yourself for sometime. It makes us feel fresh and ready to go. But, on the other hand, we should not forget our reality.
